I was using the 8 channel cyton board head gear and hardware settings which are default are not working for some channel. When the Input type is normal - 2 or 3 of the channels often are railed and wo
  4. Cyton picking up noise only on one channel?

    JLG
    by JLG · November 2023
This is not so much the picked up noise that is my issue but the channel-to-channel discrepancy. Noise does not discriminate, it should be noisy everywhere or railed to 0 uV everywhere. Plus, my "
  5. Cyton picking up noise only on one channel?

This led me to do a way simpler test: What signal do I have when absolutely nothing is plugged? All the channels of Cyton A are immediately railed and the signal goes to 0 uV except for the channel 1

I also tried to switch and use BIAS instead of SRB as it is suggested on Chip's website but it does not work much better. I get good GUI values in the low register but the FFT of the signal shows high

  9. What are the appropriate values for the ultracortex electrodes? I think I have too high impedance

... I only have one reference earclip electrode but am missing one. Would that be the culprit? Also when I remove an electrode after it has adjusted and said 'not railed' it seems to still be giving t

I get an impedance value of around 4500 - 5500 kOhms when conducting an impedance test on the GUI. When I select 'live' instead I am able to get the channels to read 'not railed'. Not sure why the tes

over these values, the output signal is "railed" or saturated hence constant: if you apply any high pass filter on a constant value, you get zero. Same input range constraints applies to ac

This time all channels railed with BIAS, they are all 100% new electrodes. It's so hard to believe all new electrodes are malfunctioning.

I tried with a larger range, as well as "auto", they are still railed. Any other possible reasons? Or any other check I should make?

'Railed' generally means that your signals are peaking ABOVE the maximum microvolts level set in the upper right on your time scale graph. Try setting a larger maximum. Most normal EEG is below 100 uV
