Electrode position to measure Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Theta waves.

Hi OpenBCI !

I want to know exact position of electrodes in international 10-20 electrode placement system to measure Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Theta waves with Cyton, as well as do i need reference electrode or just bias is enough to obtain the above mentioned waves ?

Thank You

    Obad, hi.

These wave bands can occur at all 10-20 positions. In fact, the field of QEEG, Quantitative EEG clinical measurement, confirms this.

QEEG maps are colored to show how many "Z-scores" (standard deviations), a client's brain map differs from that of a "normative database" of similar age / gender subjects -- in each frequency band, at each 10-20 location.

A common EEG feature is that Alpha shows up more with eyes closed in the Parietal and Occipital sites. But this Alpha increase can appear at other sites, depending on the individual.

All EEG devices require both Reference and Ground (Bias) connections. Along with the channels being measured.

    Regards,

    William
