EEG Mouse Cursor
I have been tossing this idea around in my head for a few months and would like support on going about this. I would like to use the ADS1299 to read my brain signals (preferably not moving my body so prefrontal area?) I'm wondering if the OpenBCI schematics/pcb can be used for this reason. if not how would they need to be altered? Would it be better to disign my own or use a pre-made gerber file on like JLCPCB? The software to control a mouse with an EEG im guessing isnt optimal right now, will i need to make my own?

I am on a fairly tight budget which is why i sugest building my own.
Hi,
The BCI 'paradigm' you refer to: smoothly moving a mouse cursor via signal processing of scalp detected EEG, is generally considered difficult, if not impossible. HOWEVER, it would be possible to have a monitor display presented to your subject, with four or more on-screen 'buttons' that correspond to actions that you want to execute. For example you could have buttons arranged in a 'cross' showing up, down, left, right. And possibly a center button (for stop for example), or other buttons on the same screen.
By focusing your attention on these 'buttons', the EEG waveforms are produced by flashing each button at a slightly different rate or pattern. The technical name for this is 'cVEP' code-based Visual Evoked Potentials. There are some other Forum posts here explaining how that is setup and programmed. The source code is open source.

If you checked some of the 'Community' page links I gave two days ago, and the page 'layout' seemed wonky. Check again, the Wordpress bugs have been fixed. Regards,
