Neurofeedback / QEEG
I found a few threads ( eg https://openbci.com/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/1662/neurofeedback-openbci-boards-and-general-getting-started-questions-thoughts/p1) that are 3+ years old on neurofeedback / qEEG applications with OpenBCI. Some state that commercial hardware is necessary while others say that an OpenBCI headset would be sufficient.
Wondering if there have been any new developments in this area in terms of recommended hardware, software and reliability metrics.

Rory, hi.
There are multiple threads regarding neurofeedback here on the Forum and Docs, searchable via the Google Advanced Search button at upper right column.

For the most part, many of the responses in those threads are still valid. QEEG is NOT available, as it requires 19 channels. But there are some 'similar' systems that use fewer channels, such as ClinicalQ / MiniQ.
Your best bet for guided neurofeedback training is with Pete Van Deusen's Brain-Trainer system, which works with Cyton and Ganglion boards.

Many other apps allow 'less guided' (via brain map) ways to do neurofeedback protocols:
