Need help building a "concentration" game
Dear all,
I have my ganglion board and electrodes for a few weeks now, and use it in combination with Brain Bay.
The idea was to have fun with neurofeedback and perhaps train my meditation skills AND make a "concentration" game for my kids (and oh well, for me too).
Setting it up is done, and I would love to get things done through the Fp1 & 2 spots, as this does not require paste in our hair 
When I try it myself, I never see strong results in the beta band, but when I close my eyes, I get readings at the 11-12Hz range. Also 3-5Hz goes up.
I don;t see very strong reactions, not when I am 'musing', not when I am intently reading new stuff or doing calculations in my head (which should stimulate beta).
The amplitude is usually in the range of 20-30 uV.
I just can't seem to find what readings I should get when concentrating, or when relaxing or attempting meditation. I am not new to meditation, and do know how that state should feel (or perhaps I am doing it wrong for many years, which is not ruled out here).
Most of you have experience with this, I guess. Could you point me to articles, tutorials, or give me hints?
My goal is to make two minigames:
1) for stimulating alpha waves. Done by audio feedback, as alpha is easier to maintain with eyes closed. Can be that a white noise gets louder of perhaps softer by getting to stronger alpha waves in 8-12Hz. The brainbay example did kinda work, except I would get excited (or jumpy) when the music actually jumped up, which would immediately get me out of alpha. Hence I thought that softening the music by getting in Alpha would work better? Suggestions anyone?
2) I made a mini game in gamemaker with a single keystroke, where a tiny death star would float up upon keystroke and lower when no keystroke was detected. Want to use the keystroke event in Brain Bay for that, to get to a more concentrated state. Jedi stuff... 
This would require higher SMR and lower Theta, right?
I just can't seem to get distinct enough signals from the EEG to use that in the calculations.
Does anyone have pointers for me?
