    Just a tip for anyone arriving here: make sure to try sudo ./OpenBCI_GUI for running from command line if you're having trouble finding the BLED112 dongle in the GUI under linux/ubuntu.

    On Linux, I think you can try running the app with/without using sudo. Also, you can try to go into the data folder and run the Hub by itself first and maybe accept permissions.

    Additionally, the command example you gave uses a Windows format device name 'COM8', not Linux device name. Check the documentation.
