@freqamp Can you share a screenshot of the GUI with no electrodes attached to the Ganglion in Live mode? Make sure to have the FFT widget and the Accelerometer widget open. I'd like to see if the noise is present there.

I'm still not ok with some of the details of the picture in the original post. Please share full details on what you are using, the Mac OS X version, and a recording file. Also would appreciate a console log file. Playing back Ganglion files that…

The picture in the first comment looks almost like the electrodes are not attached to a subject. Also, there is no accelerometer data and the text in the filters is not drawing in the correct spot. There is not enough information here to make any co…

Also, make sure to put some distance between the dongles. Having them be right next to each other when plugged into USB ports might not be the ideal environment.

Correct. Let me break down what happens in the new DataSourceSDCard.pde (https://github.com/OpenBCI/OpenBCI_GUI/blob/master/OpenBCI_GUI/DataSourceSDCard.pde)! parseRow(String[] row, int numChannels) parses the values for all channels which exist …

Dear Community, Thank you for the feedback and information. This issue was not related to the high-dpi fix. It was caused by a missing "Settings" folder, which Java's FileWriter does not make automatically. A hot fix has been developed. @orang…

@luke Thank you! Let's continue on there. Others are still welcome to share more info here or on the Github thread. I would like to release a hot fix for the GUI immediately to resolve this.

GUI 5.0.7 Standalone is working on my Windows 10 machine.
-
Let's just test 5.0.7... which supposedly fixes the same issue on Macs. Desperately need more testing on Windows 8 and 10 running 5.0.7 from Processing with Console Logs and Screenshots of Processing IDE.
-
More than one user has now mentioned this. I'm disappointed that a supposed "fix" for high-dpi screens could be the culprit and is causing problems across OS. I may opt to do a hot-fix and remove said code entirely. It's more important that the GUI …

A fix has been tested and published under the new GUI 5.0.7 which should work for all Mac users (Intel and M1). It was related to adding code to account for high-dpi screens for all OS. This code needed to be moved slightly to work with Processing 3.

This has been fixed and a new version will be released tonight or tomorrow with the fix. New version number will be 5.0.7.

If you're trying to do this manually it would help to lower the X axis limit to 50Hz or 75Hz. Next, it would be best to know what the SSVEP frequency being used was, rather than having us (and maybe you) trying to guess. Eye blinks as an EMG artifac…

The GUI always saves the raw data, before filters applied. We save the raw data straight from the devices to CSV and BDF so that different filters can be applied/changed later during playback.

I believe it would be great to have the option on the GUI to choose between recording the sensor readings and the impedance readings. If OpenBCI team can help with that, it is much appreciated. Fair enough. Maybe there is a compromise that i…

When in impedance mode, a calibrated current source is injected at 31 Hz. This is done by logic in the ADS1299 ADC chip. EEG amplitude of the resulting 31 Hz waveform correlates to impedance of that channel. This is also documented in the Texas Inst…

Make sure you have the FTDI driver installed: https://openbci.com/downloads. Found under the section "CYTON DONGLE DRIVERS". Has this dongle ever worked correctly? How long ago did you purchase it? Maybe the USB port could be broken or not hav…

Differentiating every Doc for both Cyton and Ganglion decreases readability and increases complexity. If you think a specific document should include instructions for Ganglion also, you can make an issue on the Docs Github: https://github.com/OpenBC…

Thanks for clarifying @wjcroft! Also, you could try separate the dongles with some space for better results (as confirmed by another user operating two Cytons). This can be done with a short USB extension cable or a powered USB hub. Would you …

There is an open issue on the Docs that can fix this, if resolved. https://github.com/OpenBCI/Documentation/issues/63 Sharing this thread to increase the priority of this Docs issue.

I've made a feature request on GitHub for custom filters, but I have also tagged this as low-priority until more users chime in saying this would be a valuable feature. Advanced users have the option and experience to use more technical applications…

I'm sorry but I would not consider custom time windows and a time window of 30 seconds or more a reasonable request for the GUI due to the limitation of most users computers and Processing Java. The resolution of what can be seen on a 1080p monitor …
-
@Micaela This would be a new feature for the GUI. It's possible to do custom filters on a per-channel basis using BrainFlow Filters in any supported language, in this case Java. We would just need to make a User Interface (UI - buttons, dropdowns, e…

@super248 Is everything fine when the Cyton is at-rest and no electrodes attached? This is another crucial scenario to rule out physical damage.

Great use of the "Auto" scaling in TimeSeries so that this is clearly visible in the screenshot. It does indeed suggest a potential hardware or firmware glitch with this specific device as a rare case. I recommend proceeding with William's advice on…
