I'm seeing that 5.0.4 failed to sign on Windows with Appveyor. We may need to do a hot-fix in the CI/CD pipeline and bump version to 5.0.5.

Ouch! Program can't read and write from the Documents folder. Every step that involves system disk read/write is failing. I even think BrainFlow is being denied access to wherever this is running from (Ex. C:/ProgramFiles/OpenBCI_GUI). I reall…

Can we please see the full Console Log? There is not enough information here to determine what could be happening. Please be aware that the current version of the GUI is incredibly stable and has been tested on all 3 major OS many times.

Maybe if enough users and the internal team think this is a good idea, the work would be justified. I will try to bring this up at a software meeting in the near future. This really got me thinking about how this could be done. If nothing else, m…

It would be very difficult to do this with Cyton or Ganglion across the entire GUI as the electrode positions are customizable. Some people use these boards for EMG, EOG, or EKG also. The Cyton even supports multi-modal data acquisition if the hardw…

I think the BrainFlow PSD could be more accurate and have some configuration options. Would you like to see this as a new feature in the GUI, if it turns out to perform same or better?

[SUCCESS]: The GUI is done initializing. Settings Loaded! Press "Start Data Stream" to start streaming! -- Cyton firmware v1.0.0 @wjcroft @rmib200 My Cyton with latest firmware shows v3.1.2 using GUI v4.2.0.

@Skalbe Great investigating and detective work! I'm happy to hear you were able to debug your environment to find something that works for your situation. Perhaps this comes in handy for someone along the line. Yes. This will help othe…

@MatthewCaine We tried to add an SSVEP widget to the GUI, but there were a few limiting factors: * SSVEP needs reliable frame rate on computer/screen to flash squares at the correct frequency. Sometimes the GUI frame rate drops on older machine…

@mcneillk This code in DataProcessing.pde is very old, and was likely made by someone who was quite familiar with Matlab. This person then likely ported the solution over to Java. Thankfully, there are a few methods in BrainFlow used to get PSD, …

I think it would be easier to use the Cyton SDK and Arduino Serial monitor to check board version. Another way is to run GUI v4.2.0 and it might print the Cyton firmware version to the console log.
-
@wjcroft Does this need a firmware update?
-
We also recommend using the Packet Loss widget in the GUI for more advanced troubleshooting with EMF issues related to certain environments. Critically low battery is the most common cause of dropped packets. Hope this helps, RW

I've taken what Eva has done and made a testable solution for all Cyton users. This is now available to the general public here: https://github.com/OpenBCI/OpenBCI_GUI/blob/development/Networking-Test-Kit/LSL/brainflow_lsl.py

I'm coding this now.....

Also, using the GUI to route full Time Series data is not advised. I would use BrainFlow Python + LSL for Python to stream to LabRecorder.
-
Let's keep this thread open here: https://github.com/OpenBCI/OpenBCI_GUI/issues/954 I suggest trying to use BrainFlow Python binding with same commands/setup. Channels that have been turned off should NEVER bleed signal or show anything other tha…

@amontserrat With the Notch filter applied, you are free to try other Bandpass filter options and do A-B comparisons for your particular use case(s).

Please install the FTDI driver for Windows and try again. https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Though I cannot comment on using Mark IV + dry electrodes with adolescents, you can get the best signal quality with gold-cup electrodes and 10-20 paste or the electrode cap with gel. These options will also increase comfort for longer sessions for …

@grahambriggs https://github.com/OpenBCI/OpenBCI_GUI/tree/development GUI workflow is {new branch} -> development -> master. While working on next release, latest reviewed code can always be found in development.
-
@harelasaf Please make sure you are using current version == v5.0.3. If you are already using this version. Can you please make this an issue on Github? Thanks! Will take a look at this.
-
@grahambriggs If you have some time, you are free to test https://github.com/OpenBCI/OpenBCI_GUI/tree/brianflow_new_ver branch from the above PR. Always open to feedback and test results.
-
I'll try to look at this PR again tomorrow. Need time to test all board modes.

It sounds like every piece of gear is functional except for Dongle2. I would like to see if @wjcroft agrees. Thank you for bearing with us to provide the requested information @etc!
-
@wjcroft Sounds possible. The errors that were shared earlier suggest serious problems sending/receiving basic commands and responses over the Serial port (aka Dongle2). "Comunication timeout. Device failed to poll host" "Unable to connect …

Sometimes you may need to restart the Cyton. GUI 5.0.3 is very stable and works for all users when FTDI driver is installed.

Hey there, The Cyton and Dongle acts like a two-way radio. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-way_radio Conventional radios operate on fixed RF channels. In the case of radios with multiple channels, they operate on one channel at a time.…
