I installed Ubuntu and it is working out of the box. Still have no idea why it didn't on Arch though.

Yes, I'm running Arch. I looked through all these threads before, but it didn't get better. I easily connected the board to the same laptop on Windows (dual-boot) using the same dongle but alas, it's not really an option for me to work in Windows.
