That looks great! The board is fine. About the ear clip.. could you post a picture of it? And don’t forget to clean your earlobe with alcohol before clipping it. Also you can try with saline gel if you happen to have some.

Did you turn off all filters? The test signal really is a square wave, but the GUI applies a band-pass and notch filter by default, which reshapes it: the flat tops droop and the edges round off, so it ends up looking ECG-ish. To see it properly, d…

Hi, That reading doesn't really tell you what you want, and 4–20 MOhm between SRB and BIAS is expected — don't worry about it. SRB and BIAS are separate nets and aren't supposed to be connected to each other, so probing across them on an unpowere…

Hi @nugroho_budi This looks like a reference / ear-clip problem, not the individual electrodes or the Cyton board. The giveaway is in your screenshots: all active channels sit at ~57 uVrms and go "Near Railed" together, while the impedance che…

@nugroho_budi said: Finally it works. I will post the step by step tutorial in a moment YEEEES!!! Congratulations!

@nugroho_budi did you press the PROG and RESET buttons before flashing the board? And if yes is the blue LED blinking? If not this is step no.1. Check the battery level too and the distance between the dongle and the board should not be too far away…

@nugroho_budi thank you for reformatting! Yes I used windows and Linux for flashing. I forgot to write this. Happy it worked out well! Best regards

Hello @nugroho_budi I also struggled with the firmware flashing of the RFduinos. I had to make some minor adjustments to make the compiling and flashing work. I made a post regarding this issue, maybe you wanna have a look here and it might be helpf…

I would go for the Nordic nRF52840 DK. For developing and testing your custom EEG board firmware, the Nordic nRF52840 DK imo is the best choice. It has an onboard J-Link debugger, all GPIOs broken out, and full Nordic SDK/Zephyr support — so you can…

Hello @nanapy I’m currently planning a new (modern) version of the Cyton board. I’m currently planning to use nRF52840 instead of the esp32. Tmo is a better option in many regards, but of course it depends what you’re aiming for. This is what I foun…

I use avdd and avss directly from the board to power the tlc272. My design is based on the schematics from the link I posted and it works pretty well so far. I guess if you use only 8 electrodes it’s fine (usage ~4mA) I don’t think the DC servo loo…

Sure no problem! Here you can have a look on how I did it. I connected the electrodes with the preamp using via wires (typical solution in diy pcb). The single silver wires are soldered on the tiny round fr-4 plate. Of course you can use pin headers…

At the end it worked out… somehow the external Quarz was broken. Just changed it and everything went fine. Now the board is successfully running.

Hi @carlos_lorenzo, I’ve build the active electrodes too. I don’t have the measurements but you could easily build your own electrodes from scratch. I’ve used 999 silver wire for the comb electrodes and plate for the Fp1-2. I then coated them with…

Hello @sunjc you don’t actually need those parts since they’re not relevant for this design. You don’t need the „ble enable“ part of the circuit since is not used at all. So don’t worry about that

Hello @wjcroft I finally succeeded to upload the „device“ and „host“ code. Silly enough, I forgot to add a file in the Rfduino library and that was the only damn problem. I’ve built the dongle and in the GUI it shows, that the two rfduinos are conne…

Got it. I’ve tried again to follow exactly all the steps and still I got the same result. At this point I wonder if the GitHub library is complete or there is something missing in the instructions. If so could you please send me some more informatio…

Hello @wjcroft thank you for your reply! Yes I read the instruction. The problem is tho, that it’s not clear enough about the ide (at least not for me). I see the v1.8.19 then v1.5.8. Under “ Using Radio Firmware Version 2.x.x (Fall 2016)” step 4 “…
