I have just checked everything you said William. This mac is too old for any updates apparently. So I will need to spend some money. I will download an older version of the GUI to see if it works on this machine. Thank you!!!!

Thank you very much wjcroft!! I would update the the OpenGL driver or if it doesn't work the OS. I've sent you an screen shot of the "about this mac" anyway. Again thanks for your help.
