Synchronizing two Cyton+Daisy boards in order to get 32 channels

Hello everyone, 

In order to obtain 32 channels, I want to use two Cyton+Daisy boards (16 channels each one) but I need both of them to be synchronized so I might use the clock signal of one of them to control the other one. As far as I know the ADS allow the clock synchronization by using the master's ADC signal as input for the other ADS, however this must be done by modifying the CLKSEL and CLK_EN values in both the master and the slave ADS. Actually I can't figure out how to do this without performing important changes to the board, so any help would be really appreciated.

    This is not currently possible, as you've discovered. The routing of the ADS1299 clock signals is setup for only the mainboard and Daisy, and could not be linked with another Cyton without prohibitively extensive changes / cuts / splices in wiring and firmware. Not to mention the radio / bandwidth limitations. See some of these related threads:


    The OpenBCI research-user community has shown repeated interest in supporting 24 or 32 channel capability, as is clear from the above search results. This could likely be done with some type of wifi + multiple daisy configuration, not with multiple mainboards. Such configurations are under consideration for future hardware offerings.
