Ganglion Board not connecting to GUI

I've been trying to connect my Ganglion board on both Mac and Windows without any luck.

The BCI GUI (on Mac) does not display the device in the BLE list.
I tried running the GUI on Windows using a dongle, but again I am unable to find the device.

Having been through every tutorial and troubleshooting page, I'm at a loss. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

I've made sure that the Hub is running and that the correct drivers are installed for the dongle.

I initially considered that the recent update for Mac OS was to blame, but now I'm not too sure.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Motley, hi.

Did this Ganglion work when first purchased, or has it always failed? Your primary machine is Mac? The Windows machine was a separate laptop, or were you using a virtual machine?

  • No, it never worked. I've not been able to progress past this initial stage.

My primary machine is Mac. I ran windows via Bootcamp to test the device on a different operating system.

When you click in the upper left on the Apple menu, About this Mac, what OS and hardware model / year do you see?
  • MacBook Air, Early 2015. Mojave Version10.14

I suggest you email contact at openbci.com and explain the steps you've taken. It could still be that you need the BLED112 dongle mentioned on the link I gave. That's usually only needed for older Macs that lack the Bluetooth Low Energy hardware. Post here on this thread when you find a solution. Mentioning @openbci

You could try your test on another laptop, would be one other suggestion. Sorry for all the time it has taken to debug your situation.
