Ganglion data stream started, but no data visible

Hi, I can connect to my ganglion via the GUI (ganglion's blue light is on) and the gui says that the init was successful.

however, when i press start stream, i do not see any data. any suggestions?

So you tried both Mac and Windows? What Windows dongle? What macOS version and hardware / date.

I tried on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with and without CSR 4.0 dongle (the one shipped with the ganglion) and on windows 10 (with dongle).

I have Ubuntu and Windows running in parallel on a Thinkpad x230. Neither of them worked. In addition i tried to get it run on a MS Surface Pro4 (windows10).

I tried several versions of open bci GUI (amongst others verision 3.4).

Same on a macbook pro running high sierra 10.13.6. I can also connect to the ganglion, but no data shows up when starting the stream.

What hardware date is your Macbook Pro, as shown in the Apple / About this Mac window?

I followed the instructions provided in the “getting started” tutorial.
Hardware date of the mac is 2016

One other test you could try: Ganglion has the ability to show the impedance of each channel, instead of streaming the data. You can turn on this feature with the GUI, see the button shown here,

If you are getting the impedance numbers showing up in that window, but no data, that might give some additional debug information.

My suggestion at this point is to send an email to contact at openbci.com and describe your situation. Mention this thread in the forum via the URL,

Just a quick reply regarding impedances:
The impedance test returns very high values (around 30k kohm).These vals do not change when i attach electrodes etc.

Problem is solved: I re-installed the firmware. Now everything seems to work.
