USB Dongle stopped working suddenly (COM port isn't recognized by any computer)

edited September 2018 in Hardware
Hi,

A few months ago I bought the Cyton and daisy modules for working with EEG signals. I was successfully using cyton and daisy modules over these 4 months (june to september), but suddenly the USB dongle didn't turn the blue LED on when I plugged it in several computers. After some minutes the USB dongle turn the LED on but it wasn't recognized by any computer.

Does anyone know what is happening with my USB dongle? It is some kind of hardware problem ?, since the USB dongle isn't recognized in any computer or laptop where it was working previously.

Any help is appreciate. I running out of time because I was doing my master's thesis tests just before this happened and  now I 'm unable to continue with them.

I'm using windows 10

Thanks in advance.

    Maleja, hi.

Since you have already tried plugging the Cyton dongle into several other computers, that seems to point the finger at the dongle failing. If you don't see a COM port on any computer, that also means that the dongle could not be re-flashed with firmware. Since a COM port is required to flash firmware.
