problem establishing connection with MacBookPro

Hi 

I have a MacBook Pro 2011 with Sierra system install. The computer has a bluetooth 2, but I have a bluetooth 4 dongle. The open BCI GUI is able to see the ganglion board, but when I press start, I get the following error:

" Init timeout. Verify your Serial/Com Port. Power DOWN/UP your OpenBCI &USB Dongle. Then retry Initialization"

I have tried several times, always receiving the same message.  

Just to clarify, is not a freezing of the screen, as have been described on previous discussions about problems with mac ( ant the open BCI gui is installed on he application folder).

    The BLED112 dongle is known to work with the GUI, thanks to the work of AJ Keller, the OpenBCI dev. A random type that you might have, would likely not. Do a search in the right column for BLED112 and you'll find other posts.
