Flashing lights when connecting Wifi shield to Ganglion

Hi

I use a Ganglion with firmware 2.0.0 and a wifi Shield. Pc with windows 10.

I have problems to connect my shield to the ganglion. The shield is connected to the pc with direct wifi and until here everything works fine. When I try to connect the wifi shield to the ganglion (ganglion = OFF) the shield lights D2 and D3 start flashing crazy (Shield with ext alimentation OFF).
If I turn on the Ganglion the D2 and D3 led turn off and only D4 is on. The connection to the PC get lost and I am unable to make any further connection.

What could be the problem? I am trying since a while and have no clue how to solve this.
Thanks a lot for the help

  • Hey @dohor

Sounds like the issue is from a power drain that happens with the Ganglion. You want to

    1. EXT_PWR on WiFi to OFF position (down)
    2. Battery in WiFi Shield
    3. Battery in Ganglion
    4. Turn WiFi Shield on (you will see those crazy flashing lights)
    5. Turn the Ganglion on

The ganglion should then take control of the WiFi Shield and reboot it and you should be able to continue as normal!
