Unable to Locate Data Log File

I am new to Open BCI and want to work with the data log file but am unable to locate where it is stored on my computers both Mac and Windows PC. Any help is appreciated.

On my mac using ganglion with the standalone, I just tried recorded some data a few times. I looked in /Applications/OpenBCI_GUI/Contents/Java/Data/EEG_Data/ and the only thing there was a single empty file called SDconverted-2016-12-17_18-28-40.txt

Was my data not saved, or could it be somewhere else?

btw, data is saved just fine if I run the Processing version.
