Wifi Shield non-functional after firmware flash aborted --> reflash solved it

During startup, only the LED in the wifi module is flashing.

This happens after I had a failed run to update the firmware via OTA. During the process, it returned an error message stating that "firmware erase failed"

The shield was earlier working in Direct Mode and I was getting a proper network. Now I do not see any network during SSID scans

What could be the issue?

Have you tried re-flashing the firmware? Does the firmware update fail the same way every time?

Thanks @wjcroft - No this was the first time I am trying out the Wifi Shield - have to try to re-flash. Need to tools first

Hi - I am trying to flash the firmware as guided in the docs. I get this error:

A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to Espressif device: Invalid head of packet (0x0D)

What could be the issue?

Sorry my bad - I had to do the bootloading carefully... worked and the Shield is up and running
