"Failure: Communications timeout - Device failed to poll host"

Hi guys!

I got the Mark IV and Cyton but its not working. When I click status in the Radio Configuration it says Failure: Communications timeout - Device failed to poll host. When I click Autoscan the blue and red lights blink and then it says the same thing. I also have a Ganglion board and it works perfectly in the same headset.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Jimmy, hi.

What OS? Did you follow the tutorial steps, update your FTDI driver? Ganglion uses Bluetooth Low Energy (special drivers). Cyton requires a functional serial port. Sounds like a serial port issue to me. Also try another laptop or OS.

Hi,

I'm on Windows 10 and have the latest drivers. Followed the tutorials step by step. Will try testing it on different OS and laptop.

When you plug in the dongle, you should see the COM port show up in the device manager.

It shows up in device manager as USB serial port (COM 3)

Another test you can do is to connect to COM3 with a terminal emulator, and send a '?' character.

I got it connected now in Windows 10 and Linux. When I click Status it says Success: system is up. When I stream the data Channel 4 says Railed and sometimes channel 3 is also railed.

Railed just means you have a poor connection between the pin on the board and the skin. Signal exceeds what can be plotted on the graph. Check some of these threads,
