USB dongle stopped working on macOS 10.12.6

Does anybody managed to successfully install the FTDI drivers on Sierra,
I downloaded the 2.4 Drivers and did everything according to http://docs.openbci.com/OpenBCI Software/01-OpenBCI_GUI 
the FTDI - Installer does not produce errors, but there there is nothing like tty.usb-... in /dev

    Hi I have managed to use the drivers on Sierra.

    I use the FTDI VCP driver. Is this the one you tried to install?

    I had turned out that my dongle was actually broken.
