Streaming data to Matlab via LSL (error, stoi: no conversion)

Hi all

I am trying to stream data via LSL to Matlab and I went through the instructions posted here https://code.google.com/archive/p/labstreaminglayer/wikis/ViewingStreamsInMatlab.wiki

but when I run 'vis_stream' I get the error 'stoi: no conversion'. Does anyone know why is that and what I am doing wrong?

Alex, I don't think you are looking at the current LSL repo. Google Code is deprecated,

Hi William,

Thanks for your response. Sorry I used the wrong link, I am actually using the last version of labstreaminglayer. I got that error running a Mac OS. If I change the path commands to generate the correct path (instead of using the command suggested in the ViewingStreamsInMatlab.wiki), and I run vis_stream again, I get the following error:
"Error using lsl_loadlib (line 62)
Apparently the file "C:\Users\Alex\Documents\MATLAB\labstreaminglayer\LSL\liblsl-Matlab\bin\liblsl64.dll" is missing on your computer. Cannot load the lab streaming layer.

Error in vis_stream (line 73)
lib = lsl_loadlib(); "

What is this file liblsl64.dll that seems to be missing and why?

You need to either build the dll yourself, OR use the zip file shown towards the end of that post, which contains a pre-built dll. Then you must copy that dll into where MATLAB expects it,

Thank you, I copied the dll file already, but now I get a new error. It seems function lsl_loadlib_ is missing....
"Undefined function or variable 'lsl_loadlib_'.

Error in lsl_loadlib (line 65)
hlib = lsl_loadlib_(dllpath);

Have you considered posting your question on the dedicated LSL mailing list?

The pre-built dll might not match your particular OS. Which is why they suggest building it yourself.

Sorry, when I mentioned the zip / issue post, I forgot you are running Mac. This file has the Mac / Linux INSTALL instructions,

"dll" files are only used on Windows. So I'm not sure what is going on your MATLAB (on top of LSL) setup, but on Mac dll's are not the format for library files. If you did a from-scratch build/install, that might fix all the library references to be Mac-style libraries. Just guessing here.

I had to use an older version of labsetraminglayer and I only got it to work in Linux, not Mac nor Windows...
