Continuous recording to SD card and 16 channel SD card sampling rate

Hello!

I'm new to Open BCI, but have been doing EEG work for awhile now. I purchased a 16 channel Open BCI system to do some dog epilepsy work. The system is very cool and I'm excited about all of the possibilities.

I have a question I'm trying to figure out. I want to collect ambulatory EEG data for a longer period of time and store it continuously to the SD card, but would like to be able to check in occasionally to take a look at the data. It seems that running the OpenBCI GUI to start things always re-initializes the board. Is there a way using the GUI to start the board and then "logo out" of it leaving data collection running, or is this something I'd have to do with a python script or a processing program of my own? Anyone out there done this?

Also, I know that with the 16 channel board, the sampling rate of the data streamed back to the PC is dropped to 125Hz. Is the data for the 16 channels stored at 250Hz on the SD card, or is the rate dropped down on the SD card as well?

    Data is written to the SD card at 250Hz for the Cyton with Daisy even though the data is sent out over bluetooth at 125Hz.
