Labeled data sets?

edited December 2013 in Software
There was some talk about gathering a bunch of EEG recordings along with time-stamped user activity. Has any progress been made on that front? I'm interested in seeing what kind of mental activities are distinguishable with OpenBCI data.

  • This is a great idea. It's the "time stamped user activity" that is both key and totally missing right now. We're looking to expand OpenBCI's ability to interface to existing software packages (right now, it only connects to our own software or to BrainBay). If other software packages have an annotation / time-stamping capability, that might be one way to make some quicker progress on this issue.

Have you worked with any software packages that have good annotation / time-stamping functionality that you think works well?

  • Hey all - I know this is an old thread, but has anyone come across a way to efficiently annotate time series data? I've been recording EEG, all the sensors on an Empatica E4 wristband as well as audio/video. In order to develop machine learning models, we need labeled data. I reached out to a guy about this tool, which is pretty much what I'm looking for, but it hasn't been open sourced yet. http://hcigames.com/gur/repidly-lightweight-tool-collaborative-analysis-biosignals-gameplay-videos/
  • I'm not sure an open openbci data set exists. it should tho, sounds like a cool idea.

EDFBrowser is open source and supports annotating EEG data files. It can also convert your CSV data into EDF / BDF standard interchange formats. (BDF+ is the 24 bit version of EDF, which is 16 bit.)
