Streaming Data from Pc to Ganglion (Java)

Hallo,

I just received my Cyton and Ganglion Board from OpenBCI. I want to write a small Java application that runs on the PC and that connects via the OpenBCI Hub to the the Ganglion board. After the connection is established the data stream should start. I had a look at the programming documents on the site and also the GITHUB but I could not find anything that helped me.

Has anyone tried this before, or can anyone provide me with some useful links on how to get started on this problem?

Thank you for the link, I will definitely check out the Node.js code on Github!

My first steps to get a better understanding on the communication between the PC and the Hub was, that I tried to implement a TCP/IP communication between those two. The code looks like this:

String textout;

try {

Socket clientSocket = new Socket ("127.0.0.1", 10996);

DataOutputStream outToServer = new DataOutputStream(clientSocket.getOutputStream());

DataInputStream dis = new DataInputStream(clientSocket.getInputStream());

String sentence = "c,Ganglion-2bcc,;\n";

outToServer.writeBytes(sentence);

textout = dis.readLine();

System.out.println(textout);

clientSocket.close();

}catch(Exception e) {

System.out.println("Error");

}

Despite what I sent to the Hub I always get as answer: "q,200,;"

What I am doing wrong?

Hi! Please be sure to scan for Ganglion devices before sending the connect, i'm pretty sure that's I programed the hub, you must have discovered the peripheral before sending the string name.

Did you see the docs out lining the hub? http://docs.openbci.com/OpenBCI Software/07-OpenBCI_Hub

According to the docs, "q,200" means the hub is up and running http://docs.openbci.com/OpenBCI Software/07-OpenBCI_Hub#openbci-electron-hub-command-set-status
