Wifi module disconnects from network when Cyton board is connected

The wifi shield was working fine , but suddenly now the Wifi module disconnects from my network when the cyton board is connected.
If I disconnect the cyton board the wifi module connects back to my network.Any ideas why?

  • After I connected the wifi shield to a dedicated wifi router and using a fully charged battery , this problem seemed to be fixed

    Raja, thanks.

Can you clarify? Previously when it was failing, you were NOT "connected ... to a dedicated wifi router"? What type of router were you using?

  • I was originally connected to linksys (EA6900 AC1900)
wifi router  , which is connected to the internet  , this router we use for all purposes including streaming .

I added another linksys (EA6900 AC1900) wifi router ,did not connect this to the internet and dedicated(no other devices are connected to this network) this  router only for the wifi shield+cyton +daisy combo.
Seemed to work fine (Except for the previous issue of daisy streaming at 250hz)

Is it possible there was some manual configuration setting differences on the two Linksys routers, that might explain why the Cyton works on one and not the other? (Other than the fact that one has internet.) Mentioning AJ @pushtheworld. I think he may be out of town at the moment.
  • Hey is this resolved? Is there still a persisting problem? The wifi shield uses N technology and will loose signal when batter get's too low. I am working to put a big stability over-the-air update for the wifi shields this week!
