Openbci to probe. Effects of wire?

Hello,

I was wondering if the type of wire used to join the probe and the openbci assembly is important enough to change. I have a bunch of mil spec coax, silver plated copper over a steel core so hence the inquiry, if anybody has experience with this. My reasoning is with voltages so low, may be noise would be reduced if the probe wire was shielded?

    In general, no. The industry standard cable used in EEG passive electrode wires is just plain ordinary stranded copper.

    Some (very few) companies do have shielded coax cables. These are very high end systems. You might see a slight reduction in noise due to cable motion.
