Springs for the Ultracortex (from Europe)

Hey there!

I am currently in the process of assembling my own Ultracortex, and I now only need the springs. As I am based in Europe, ordering them from the US is wayyy too expensive. I looked around, and found springs with the dimensions 19 by 9.5mm, are these good enough? I looked at the dimensions in the instructions and on the link sites, but I am not sure what values mean what.

This seller is basicaly the one that was listed on the ultracortex tutorial. Their site is down, but they keep selling on ebay, and that's where I got mine from.

I would like to buy springs from Europe (Italy to be precise) as well. Did you try the ones sold on eBay? Are they good?

May I ask you if you also found a website for nuts and bolts?

Hello!

I'm also trying to assemble the ultracortex, in Spain. I'm here on residency from the US just for the summer, and OHHHH how I wish I had ordered the parts before I left home.... I decided to wait because my materials budget is provided here, but what good is that if screws that cost 1.89 in the US will cost $75 to ship them here?

So I am also trying to find screws, nuts, and bolts locally. I am lost just trying to translate the sizes into local specifications so I can sort out what to ask for. Any successor failures you all may have had would be so helpful to hear about!

Also I found these as potential solutions for the springs, at a supplier in Barcelona, but I am not certain. Maybe one of you will find this helpful, or have some insight.

Hi lagidigu,

Actually I just got them yesterday and they fit!

The harder one is maybe a little bit stiff, I hope not too much.

Finally getting closer - everything is printed except the frame; my printer is just a little bit too small for the quarters.

A note for anyone else who is looking...

I found screws, nuts, & bolts for the build, finally:

What I ended up with is M2x20mm machine screws and matching nuts. These are a standard size but on the small end of what most shops carry, so I had to go to a specialty electronics shop to find them. http://www.ondaradio.es/producto/m2x2025-rohs-bls25-tornillo-din84-m2x20tuerca-fe-cincado-blanco-4228.aspx

Luckily, I was able to walk into the shop and pick them up. But I'm sure they will be easier to find somewhere else if you know exactly what to ask for.
