  thank you for your response!
  
  I read all three articles. There were amazing! Astonishing!
  
  However,
  I wonder if any computational learning (for example a neuronal network)
  was needed, so that that the arduino could detect the signals better. I
  mean, not all alpha waves and not all signals, generated through a
  blinking light are looking the same every time.
  
  So, I wonder how it works without any computational learning.

  Chip does detail his signal detection schemes in the blog posts. Such as using thesholds, etc. Take a look at his Github. I don't believe any neural networks were involved. On the other hand there are some posts on Motor Imagery, use the Advanced Search box in the right column.

  
  

  These detection algorithms are running on the laptop, not the OpenBCI mainboard or the Arduino used to output control signals.
