Replacing corroded RFduino chip on a noncommunicating cyton board

I pulled my OpenBCI out for a play after 6 months of bring in storage and ws dismayed to find the RFduino chip had developed massive amounts of corrosion over it and even after cleaning, the device will not comunicate with my bluetooth dongle/OpenBCI app (batteries were party connected, and there was unstoppered saline solution nearby :-/ )

I'm hoping to fix it by replacing the the RFduino chip but noticed when shopping for it that mine is an RFD22301 with a number written below of 1343 but the RFD22301 online have 1332 written on them instead.

Three queries:

  • Does anyone know if these chips are compatible?
  • Aside from removing the old chip and replacing the new one, will I need to do anything else (programming etc?)
Any other advice would be welcome!
