identifying Cyton firmware version and revision history

I have 3 questions regarding firmware:

1) The OpenBCI downloads page shows that the Cyton firmware was last updated Feb 2017. Is there a page that shows version history of the firmware and what is new in each version? The corresponding Github page doesn't seem to have this.

2) How can I check which firmware version my board is running?

3) Do the 8ch and 16ch boards both use the same firmware now? On Github it says the OpenBCI_32bit_16channel is depreciated.

(3) yes, firmware identifies presence of Daisy at startup
