Ganglion for beginners / strong 50 Hz in FFT

Hello, 
I am following the Ganglion guide to obtain an EEG. I am starting with an impedence check and all is fine (5-15kΩ range).

I get a dominant EEG signal at 50Hz. I close my eyes and a 10Hz signal emerges slightly but the 50Hz is still very strong. Is this normal?

    Are you turning on the notch filter (button?) You must use the 50 Hz notch filter.

    50Hz noise is normal. You have to filter it out. 
    50Hz in Europe and 60Hz in USA is mainly the electric current of the environment (e.g Lights).
