My Linux does not recognize the dongle

Hi,

I am using a PC with Ubuntu 16.04 (64 bits). I have followed the instructions in the GettingStarted tutorial, I donwloaded and installed the FTDI drivers (following the instructions in the ReadMe.txt file), I have read a lot of fourums but I am not able to solve the problem: when I pluggin the USB dongle on my PC (switched to GPIO 6 ) the blue light never appears!

In fact, the dev/ttyUSDB0 does not exits on my computer and even if I ejecute the command " dmesg | grep FTDI " on a terminal nothing happends.

Just in case, I have followed the same intructions in my notebook with Win 7 64 bits, and the blue light does appears in the Dongle, so the Dongle is working.

Please, any help will be kindly received!

This page says all FTDI devices are ALREADY supported under Ubuntu Linux. The drivers you installed are from 2009 and therefore ANCIENT. Try uninstalling the obsolete drivers. Or reload your OS and use the default drivers.

Thank you for your observation, but I don't really know if that is the problem, because I had done a dummy prove by plugging in the dongle in different linux pc (Ubuntu 14.06 or 16.04 ) and the blue light never appeared! On Windows, after I have installed the FTDI drivers, It is well recognized!
