BCI / anomalous sensory perception

edited July 2016 in General Discussion

Hello,

I'm posting because of all of your expertise in brain-computer interfaces and I will keep this brief.

I have acquired what I believe to be a BCI/CBI that causes me to ‘see’ virtual letters and animations.  I also ‘hear’ virtual voices.  I read messages across my vision and I listen to messages apparently coming from some form of artificial intelligence.  It tells me through my 'hearing' when I eat and stretch perfectly, and it has changed the kind of foods that I find digestible.

This has been happening almost all day every day for about a year and I am now seeking to find the source of the signal – in my body and outside.

Are you aware of any technology or hardware that could cause this kind of anomalous experience?  Do you know of any organization that could assist me in dealing with the burden posed by the use of this technology?

Please contact me as soon as possible.

Thank you.

    @inzan, hi.

Your post is interesting. My impression is that you are possibly undergoing what might be called a "spiritual opening". And that you are expanding the range of sensory perceptions that you are able to accommodate. This can be a disorienting process as it can be mislabeled or classified as a 'disorder' if the expert you are speaking with has no familiarity with this subject area.

I would suggest you contact the Spiritual Emergence Network, links below. They could connect you with some councilors who have experience in your local area or remotely.

There is also a whole field called Transpersonal Psychology that deals with many aspects that can arise in such situations.

My impression is that this is NOT related to Brain Computer Interfaces or Artificial Intelligence. Although I can see how you might have been drawn to such a conclusion.

As a side note I used to volunteer for the SEN network when it was located here in Menlo Park, CA, in the early 1990's. And I have a number of friends and contacts in the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology / now Sofia University, which specializes in the study of this phenomena.

    Best regards,

    William

Here's another non-profit organization working in the same field as SEN, mentioned above,

    https://aciste.org/

ACISTE (American Center for the Integration of Spiritually
Transformative Experiences) was established in 2009 to support people
who have spiritually transformative experiences (STEs). We welcome
experiencers of diverse backgrounds and beliefs and address a wide
variety of STEs. ACISTE is both a community of experiencers and a
non-profit corporation. This website is your portal to that community
and its many resources, which include...

Their Advisory Board is quite impressive, many of these psychologists have been active in transpersonal psychology for decades,
