can I use Arduino IDE 1.6.7 instead of 1.6.5 ?

I am just double checking but the docs say install Arduino IDE  1.6.5, and I notice you are linking to the old version, but, I am a reluctant to do this as I already have 1.6.7 installed and not wanting to mess things up. Is there any particular reason it has to be 1.6.5 and not the latest version. I am wanting to have a bash at updating Chips Alpha code but I believe that as of 1.6.7 there were changes made to core Arduino which would mean it is pointless (to make the changes I mean) until we can upload code from 1.6.7. Just checking thanks in advance.

    On uploading with 1.6.7 I get the following error? Does anyone know if this is the reason for using 1.6.5 or any reasons why not to use 1.6.7 please.

    Error compiling.

    Never mind it was that however now getting Read page failed after uploading

    After 2nd attempt I get Program flash failed.

    There is an issue using any Arduino IDE older than 1.6.5
    We don't recommend it. I have a couple of different versions running on my machine (MAC book pro) without issues.

    Hi thanks for the reply the issue was using a newer version but going back  to 1.6.5 it uploads now but the whole process is very temperamental.
