I understand that AJ Keller @pushtheworld is helping Joel @biomurph to refactor our firmware. He's also working on some BCI software to attempt to recognize thoughts (quite ambitious!)

AJ might be aware of the work at the Gallant Lab, links on previous post above. Their fMRI research tracks which brain areas light up with different words (semantic concepts) as they listen to audio stories inside the fMRI machine. I played a bit with the 3D brain viewer, fascinating browser app. Their Nature paper is available at the above links also.
