Data Analysis with OpenBCI

Hi - I am a newbie. I connected everything and saw the cool waves! How do I capture these waves and run some analysis? To start, say, I want to look at the signal peak intensity and frequency and compare different conditions (eyes open and closed)?? Thanks in advance!

Evan, hi. The OpenBCI_GUI does a simple FFT, so if you followed the tutorial you should be able to see the alpha showing up or disappearing (eyes closed vs open) at 10 hertz.

The OpenBCI_GUI can also capture the EEG data stream as a text CSV file.

If you are looking to do your own data analysis live in realtime, consider exploring one of the VPL (Visual Programming Language) apps such as neuromore or BrainBay. Use the search box at lower right to find many threads discussing these.
