Sensory Entrainment
Hi All,
I've started to collect some EEG data in response to sensory stimuli. Right now, I've just done a blinking light (a very standard thing to do) but I'm hoping to move on to do audio stimulation as well. If you're interested, check out my data at:

I wish I had a better blinking light so that I could control (or sweep!) the frequency. Then, we'd really be doing science!
All of this is in the context of those sleep-manipulation smartphone apps and in the context of new brain-computer interfaces that have been appearing (using "steady state visual evoked potential", which is a kind of visual entrainment). I think that it's a cool phenomenon.

It showed that my computer cannot generate steady blinking faster than 10 Hz. As a result, I don’t have a chance of entraining brain waves at faster than 10 Hz. This is important if I plan on using this setup as the basis for BCI based on visual entrainment.
It’s pretty cool what you can do with a $1.50 photocell.

I made some movies that blink at two rates simultaneously. By consciously choosing which blink rate that I want to focus on, I can control the frequency of the brainwaves that get entrained. I think that's pretty cool!

i'm pretty sure that vlc can display actual playback speed.
would love to see 24/25, 30, 48...
