Will it be possible to buy the Daisy Module separately?

    We do not sell the Daisy Module separately. It is only available as a part of the 16 channel R&D kit

    Is it possible to use another device, for instance and Arduino Uno instead of the Daisy Module for ECG with the 8 channel BCI kit? 
    If it is possible, would I only need to change the given code in Processing? 

    The plan would be to use 8 channels for EEG and 1 channel for ECG.

    Well, it is possible with the OpenBCI that you have, to add an additional signal by using the unused GPIO pins that we've broken out.
    What version of OpenBCI do you have? 8bit or 32bit?

    This is a heartrate monitor from SparkFun
    It looks easy to use, and outputs an analog signal that could be sampled by the OpenBCI board, and then that data could be included in the data stream that OpenBCI sends.

    Does this look like something you could do? We're here to help.

    I have ordered a 32bit one a few days ago.

    I'm interested to know why you can't use 7 channels of EEG and one channel of ECG. That is possible with the 8 channel 32bit Board...

    Also, to give other self a plug, you could use the Pulse Sensor.
    An optical heart rate monitor that can be plugged into one of the analog inputs of the chipKIT on the OpenBCI 32bit Board.

    This is true, I could use 7.
    Ideally I wanted to use more than 8 EEG + 1 ECG, hence the original Daisy question. The pulse I think is even better, perhaps is easier to set up as well. 

    Just out of curiosity, why is it not possible to order the Daisy Module Separately?

    We don't sell the Daisy Module on it's own because we are doing our level best to make sure that people use our hardware in a safe and effective way. If we sell the Daisies solo, then there is no telling how people will use it. This has implications for safety and for signal quality.
    Also, there is not any power supply parts on the Daisy, so it's not the easiest board to interface with.

    I'm working on a tutorial for getting the Pulse Sensor setup and running on the OpenBCI. I'll post back here when it's up on our tutorials page.

    Thanks for the clarification. Maybe later you could sell it to people who already have purchased the main hardware? Just an idea.
