  • Well I was able to successfully upload the blink sketch and it worked perfectly. However, when I re-upload the OpenBCI firmware I still get the same issue when using processing.

  • in my processing log says no dasy to attach...should I check the soldering? Any idea based on the info i have copied?

    Chris, when I looked at this thread a day or so ago, you had posted that you tried the "blink" test and that worked. What happened to that post, did you delete it? Your post also said that you then tried to load the default OpenBCI firmware and that failed. (Did not produce a response to '?'.) I assume that test was done with 8 channels only.

    It's sounding more to me like there is some problem with your main board, if it won't work in 8 channel mode. When you first started this forum thread, it was working in 8 channel mode, but not 16. Now nothing. Is that correct?

    When you loaded the default firmware, there were no error messages, is that right? Wondering if it is still possible that a large firmware could load, and somehow get mangled but not produce a checksum error.

    I must admit I hadn't thought to try just the main board by itself last week since I only ever use 16 channels. So after testing both the 8 channel and 16 channel configuration when sending a '?' I get the right response for 8 channels but nothing for 16 channels. Also the main board is able to run correctly using processing for 8 channels. So I'm back where I started two weeks ago. The main board is ok, just something is wrong with the daisy. 

    When I uploaded the firmware I got no errors. 


  • Mine works fine with 8 channels, but it does not recognize the dasy. when i select the 16 channels in processing. that happens after i have sent it to repair to openbci and got it back one week ago or so. So apparently it should work fine! Firmware?

    @birthday2, it does look like the OpenBCI board is unable to communicate with the daisy module.
    You say that you have alwasy had this problem? 

    @chriseb, from the looks of it, now the OpenBCI board is unable to communicate with the daisy module...
    did you upload code from this repository?

    I am having trouble replicating your problem here. Will keep trying it.
    Also, we are expecting to get the Daisy Modules back in stock quite soon.
    Please email contact-at-openbci-dot-com with "Daisy Problem" in the subject line.
    We will be able to do an exchange as soon as we get new Daisies in stock.

  • Yes I did use OpenBCI_32bit_16channel repository. 

    I honestly don't know what happened. One day it was working fine the next day it wasn't. So I'm afraid I can't be of any help in replicating the problem.

    Re-uploaded OpenBCI_32bit_SD code and it works wrong still.
    16 channel for start system.The error still is :
    Init timeout verify your serial/com port.Power doen/up your openbci&USB dongle,then retry initialization.The processing error is:don't draw hand.
    But I choose 8 channel for start system,everything is ok.

    If you are using 16 Channel system, you must upload the firmware found here to your 32bit board
    The code called OpenBCI_32bit_SD does not support 16 channel.

    Sorry for my confusion, we first had merged your post on the other thread, and I assumed you had loaded the 16 channel firmware. Then I flipped your post over to this thread.

  • Biomurph,At first i had this time out message. I wasnt able to load the 16 channel interface on processing. I sent the daisy to repair. You repaired it and sent it back to me. Now I can acces the 16 ch interface but it only shows the first 8 channels. Nothing appears in the 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 channel. If you checked the daisy module already...what would the problem be?
