OpenBCI GUI MacOS silicon native app

msmitheegmsmitheeg Pittsburgh

Hi - I have been using OpenBCI with Cyton boards for teaching in classes for a few years. Will you be producing a silicon native app? This is the most common platform for my students and rosetta-emulated apps are going to be going away after the next OS release. Thanks!

    Hey there!

I want to start by saying that we appreciate the work you do to educate students in biosensing using OpenBCI tech. We are keenly aware that Apple plans to deprecate Rosetta, which allows the OpenBCI GUI (made using Processing) to run on Apple Silicon.

I'm excited to share that the next generation of OpenBCI software is in active development! This will include native Apple Silicon support, along with continued support for Windows and Linux. For the latest announcements on this, make sure to join the official OpenBCI newsletter at https://openbci.com/newsletter.

    Sincerely,
    RW
