SD card - Meta Data missing with key word : keywords = [b'%START AT', b'%Total time mS,etc]

edited August 2025 in Cyton

So, I have been using the same 16GB san disk sd card this link mentioned: https://docs.openbci.com/Cyton/CytonSDCard/

However when I begin the SD card recording by clicking the "Write to SD card option" after the board has been turned on, maybe after 26 mins like the example below, I just get the %STOP keyword that corresponds to the write time start since the board was powered on.

When I want to finish the recording I just click the stop session button on the gui, and then once it returns to the dashboard, I just close the GUI window.

Why is there no end meta data as mentioned on the website which has keywords such as:

keywords = [b'%START AT', b'%STOP AT', b'%Total time mS:', b'%min Write time uS:', b'%max Write time uS:', b'%Over', b'%block, uS'] " ?

The below is just a snippet from one 24 hrs SDcard file.

b'%STOP AT\n

However I would also like to mention that, when I tried to stop and end the session in between the sd card recordings, it never gave the end meta data, it just restarted the another file with the same %STOP keyword in the beginning of the file as before, and nothing else.

Another thing I would like to mention is that I did see the %START and '%Total time mS:', '%min Write time uS:', '%max Write time uS:', '%Over', '%block, uS' keyword when the file was set to be recorded only for 5 minutes, and then only did it show the entire meta data. Why can't the same be achieved if the 24 hr file is not filled and still has the 0 bytes left to be overwrittten?

    Hi Noobie,

    Please compose an email with your question and send it to Customer Support (contact at openbci.com). That way a ticket will be assigned with Zendesk and the firmware engineer will be able to take a look.

    Regards, William
