Cyton 16 Channel - Power supply

Hey, I am trying to collect EEG data with my Cyton + Daisy 16 channel board.
Unfortunately after collecting the data for about a minute or two, I get no signal in the eeg channels
Replacing the batteries fixes the issue but its quite inconvenient. Is it safe to hook a power supply directly to the battery pack?

    Rupan, hi.

    You have two options for batteries, the AA cell holder (works with alkaline or rechargeable cells), or lithium polymer cells, which are available in a wide range of capacities.

    Power supplies directly connected to a mains outlet are NOT recommended for two reasons:

    • potential safety issues if the (typically cheap Chinese) power supply shorts the DC outputs to the mains inputs, connecting high voltage to your scalp.
    • the mains supplies or even usb 5V power bricks, use switching mode power supplies, which have much more 'noise' than batteries. This noise can distort the microvolt sensitive EEG accuracy.
