Is there a pink noise(1/f noise) at the EEG electrode-skin interface?

Hi
Is there a pink noise(1/f noise) at the EEG electrode-skin interface? Is any amplitude data regarding it available and how to reduce the noise?

    Hi Silver,

The 1/f noise does NOT appear to be related to skin interface issues. Rather it is evidence of intrinsic brain network activity. Here is a related paper:

    https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S105381191930895X
"Decomposing alpha and 1/f brain activities reveals their differential associations with cognitive processing speed"

In general EEG signal processing (over most of the past) has just accepted that 1/f trend is present, and not tried to 'remove' it before processing the EEG. However some recent research does try to draw conclusions about what are 1/f processes by taking these into account.

    Regards, William
