Theta training protocols?
Hi!
I have been researching on Theta training protocols and learning about the works of Elmer and Alyce Green. Their book has a lot of information on Theta training.
Would you recommend other resources I can look into on this subject?

Chintutritya, hi.
There are a few types of neurofeedback protocols that address the theta band. Look over some of these search results.

[typically used for EXCESS theta found in ADHD]

Here is a related Forum thread, with some Youtube's showing Jeff Tarrant's Neuromeditation protocols, some of which utilize theta reward.

Here is a very simple BrainBay design that rewards alpha and inhibits beta. It could be adapted for other bands. However the Peniston protocol has specific elements called 'cross-overs' that you may read about in the papers. There may be an open source alpha-theta design somewhere out there for BrainBay, neuromore, BioEra, etc. There are commercial versions available from Brain-Trainer and other home training sites.

Thanks William!
William,
Have you experimented with any kind of Theta Synchrony protocol?
I have heard that it is not a fully conscious state but has many benefits.

The article you linked to, is on the same alpha-theta training mentioned earlier. This is not a 'synchrony' protocol. Basically alpha-theta has two separate reward thresholds: one for alpha amplitude and the other for theta amplitude. Additionally it is common to have 'inhibits' which trigger with excessive beta (mind wandering) or delta (sleepiness). The goal of alpha-theta is to have more 'cross-over' situations where the alpha and theta amplitudes reach the same microvolts amplitude, repeatedly over an extended period of time.
I'm pretty sure that whenever Green is referring to theta training, that he means the alpha-theta protocol. This is confirmed several times in the link you provided.

Thank you. Insightful answers as always.
The article I linked to is not a synchrony protocol. It has clear descriptions of the Theta state.
Have read about people using Theta synchrony protocols.
