Connection issues [Ganglion,Mac]

edited July 2022 in Ganglion

I used to have just one Ganglion board but recently got a brand new one. The old one can connect to my computer, but it is inconsistent and unwieldy. In order to find out if it is an issue with the board itself, I got a brand new Ganglion board. The new one, however, is even worse. I cannot connect to it at all.

My computer is an M1 Macbook Pro with Mac OSX 12.4. The software I am using is OpenBCI GUI v5.1.0 and BrainFlow 5.0.1. Both OpenBCI GUI and BrainFlow can connect to my old Ganglion board. However, sometimes the connection to the old board has issues. I expected the new board to at a minimum to be able to connect to my computer and have similar issues as the old board. However, the new board does not show up at all in the "BLE DEVICES" section of OpenBCI GUI, and is not found by Brainflow either.

This is a controlled comparison. What I mean by this is that the computer, the software, the OpenBCI Bluetooth Dongle, and even the battery are identical between the two boards (I use the same battery and switch it between the two boards). The brand new Ganglion does have a blinking blue light when I turn it on, but it is just never seen by any of the software.
