Is a Different Sampling Rate Possible for the Ganglion? E.g., 125 Hz or 250 Hz?

Hi All,

Is it possible to change the sampling rate on the Ganglion to something other that 200 Hz? Either 125 Hz or 250 Hz would be ideal.

I assume that one could modify the firmware to do this. Or is there some sort of hardware limitation?

Higher rates can work with the Wifi Shield. BLE radio rate is limited to 200 hz.; which is already heavily compressed.

Crystal oscillator on the Ganglion is setup with 200 as a base, rather than a more typical 250 or 256. This was because of the radio bandwidth limitation.

Ah, yes. I should have remember the bandwidth limitations for higher sampling rate.

I think that there is an error in the documentation of the web-page you referenced, it mentioned 250 Hz, it looks like that they cut-and-pasted from the Cyton documentation:

"~(COMMAND)
This works similar to the Channel
Settings commands, however, there is no latching character. Power
cycling the OpenBCI Ganglion board will cause the sample rate to reset
back to default of 250Hz."
