"Failed to Initialize" Cyton
Hello I've just Bought Cyton+Daisy board with dongle all together. I installed last FTDI drivers. downloaded GUI Followed Step by step documentation on Getting started. but i still can start session. when I select port and start session it says:
Failed to initialize board. Please check that the board is on and has power.
when I press Auto-scan in Radio Configuration it says:
Error reading from serial port.
I tried different ports and even 3 different windows PCs. I've checked device manager and under ports it recognizes Dongle. When I press Auto Connect it says:
Found Cyton Dongle but cannot connect to board. Unable to connect to cyton. Please check hardware and power source.
I tried to run it in older versions on GUI but still nothing appears. I even tried to update firmware on Pic32 but arduino gives me next error:
An error occurred while uploading the sketch. No target found.
I would appritiate any kind of help. ASAP.
Thanks.
Here is console log from GUI:

Have you emailed to the OpenBCI support staff? (contact at openbci.com) If your new purchase is not working, then support should be able to troubleshoot or replace non-functioning components. Was this purchased from the OpenBCI website?
William
yes I've emailed support and im waiting for answer. and yes I purchased everything from official OpenBCI shop
The GUI is finding the dongle, so that means the FTDI usb serial port is working. However the dongle RFduino, appears not to be linking up with the RFduino on the mainboard. Thus you cannot talk to the PIC32 on the mainboard. Because the AUTOSCAN you tried, also failed to align radio channels with the two RFduinos, this means one or the other RFduino may be malfunctioning.
It's possible that a firmware re-flash of the dongle, might potentially fix the (possibly) malfunctioning dongle RFduino. However I would advise you to wait before you attempt this, to see what support recommends.

Mentioning @Shirley.
thanks for replying so quickly.
I wanted to Update firmware but arduino still gives me error that I've mentioned above while uploading Default Board sketch on pic32. Do you have any kind of tutorial or documentation about it?
Please DO NOT do any firmware uploads unless instructed by support.
The issue is likely NOT with the PIC32, but with one of the RFduino radio processors. There is one in the dongle and one on the mainboard.
Okay Thank you Ill wait for support than.
i have exactly the same issue. Have you solved this problem? thx
thx. I just emailed them. Just want to get a reply asap, so i want to see if there is any solution here.
Other easy things to try:
yes. Tried all of them but with no luck. and here is my log file:
I've seen this same post from official OpenBCI support. Let's please pick one or the other and not create double work for the team.
Thank You,
