Battery Pack, size and location
Hello! So I have the Ultracortex Mark IV Headset with the Cyton+Daisy board. I still need to acquire a LiPo battery and charger, and have a couple questions that I'm having a hard time clarifying from the documentation. Does the battery mount inside the board cover? If so, is the ~500mAh recommendation primarily for the size? I want to ensure I'll be able to use the Ultracortex for full days without needing to pause to recharge, but also want it to mount properly. Thanks for any insight!

Mogil, hi.
The battery mounts UNDER the Cyton mainboard. Which is easy with the smaller flat cells. So slightly larger mAh cells might fit given their dimensions. Otherwise you could place the cell anywhere, if your leads are long enough.

Hi William,
Thanks for the quick response. I am looking at either a 500 mAh or 1000 mAh battery, the latter being better value but I'll need to measure the space under the Cyton to see if it would fit as tucking it away would be preferable.
Another option for larger cells is to use the velcro dots (one hook, the other loop), and put a dot on the battery, and a dot on the lid of the Cyton case.
Note that the Cyton+Daisy current drain is only about 62mA. 500mAh / 62mA = ~ 8 hours

Would that fit with the Daisy already covering a portion of the cover though?
re: velcro dots for attachment outside case.
Correct, I was assuming without the Daisy, the cover is clear. Even with Daisy, the sides of the cover are about 1/2" wide. That might be enough attachment area.
Alternately, cut a 1 inch diameter circle of plastic (such as from the bottom of a yogurt container), drill two holes in it and tie wrap it to one of the Ultracortex struts. You dot can go on that.
There is a 3D printed, octamount battery tray on Thingiverse. This was created by one of the core designers of the Mark IV. @mogil Here you go: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2479366
