    The MindAffect cVEP is your best probability of success. Considerable documentation available.

    Note that square wave light amplitude pulsation does not generate just one frequency in the brain. But there is also some sideband generation as well. I know some companies that use AM amplitude modulated light intensity, that is more likely to generate single frequency FFT response.

    The MindAffect cVEP detection involves specific pseudo-random sequences that can be detected using machine learning. Watch some of their videos.

    No, your Cyton is streaming to the GUI just fine.

  • I have already started reading into their documentation and it looks good so far. I hope this actually works. At least it will prove for last if the problem is with me or with our Cyton board so I don't waste anymore time trying to tinker with it.
    I will keep you informed with any new progress I make, and thank again for your help.

    Since you are already seeing the eye blinks and EMG activity with your Cyton, that means the EEG is also working. The TI ADS1299 chip used for the ADC, cannot "partially fail", so that EMG works (for example) but EEG does not.

    Okay, so new updates. I am still reading into MindAffect and haven't been able to fully test that yet. But I tried the EEG test [eyes closed alpha] you provided on another person. And again I couldn't generate alpha waves, and even tried the ssvep movies provided by chip, and even that didn't work. I tried both dry electrodes and passive gold electrodes and both didn't give good results at all. I don't even think trying MindAffect will work as the board can't even detect alpha waves.
    I am sorry I dragged this post for too long, but I don't have much time and I really needed to get some results by this time.

  • Yes I read the whole thing, but still kinda confused why I can't get results in other experiments. Will try to get another person to test the kit again soon and see if that changes results.
